RedHerring Nail Varnish

Last summer I bought a set of RedHerring Nail Varnishes in a sale at Debenhams, at the time I wasn't really bothering to paint my nails much so I never really got to try them out, however this year I have decided to wear nail varnish more often, and as it was so cold today and I didn't want to go out I decided to give one of them a go. The set comprised of 7 varnishes in some really pretty colours - a deep purple with a slight shimmer, a deep purple, a bright red, a coral, a bright pink, a pale minty blue and a pale purple, after pondering for a while I decided on the last one.

If I'm totally honest I was expecting more than I got from a brand like RedHerring, the nail varnish was easy enough to apply however the colour pay-off wasn't that great, one coat looked very wishy washy, and after two coats I could still see some streaking in the colour, I'm not really expecting it to last long without chipping, I doubt it will last much longer than a couple of days. But as I only paid about £5 for the set, I won't be losing any sleep over it.  I am still looking forward to trying out the deep purple with a shimmer, it looks thicker in consistency, I'll post some pics when I use it.

Has anyone tried RedHerring nail varnishes? Did you have more luck than I did?

What's on my Phone?

I have a Samsung Omnia 7 running Windows Phone 7, and I love my phone! I won't go into a long review on the phone as there are already many out there, however I thought it might be nice to have a series of posts on what Apps I have and use, so here is the first.

Woman Calendar

This app is so handy, it's a calendar (pretty obvious from the title!!) that allows me to track not only my periods, but my moods, symptoms, temperature and weight, on a day by day basis, and from the information I put into the calendar it will predict when my next period is due, allow me to look at statistics from the past months and much much more.  There are also several themes to choose from, allowing you to personalise the app to your own taste.  I'm pretty crap at remembering when I am due, but now I have no excuse, especially as the live tile I have pinned to my start screen will give me reminders!

MUA Cosmetics Haul

I discovered this brand last year when I bought a couple of lipsticks but hadn't really thought much about them since then, however just after Christmas I felt like treating myself to some new make-up and discovered the MUA website, and low and behold they had a special offer!  Spend £8 and receive the Immaculate Collection palette free!!! I can never resist a special offer or what appears to be a bargain, and so my shopping experience began. 

After alot of deliberation (there is so much to choose from!!) I finally decided on the following:

Posh with No Heels

A while ago I posted about shoes with no heels, and now I've found someone wearing them, of course it had to be Posh, although she had David there to stop her falling over in them.

Victoria and David were at Macy's in New York to launch their latest his 'n' hers perfume "Signature".

To me they look uncomfortable, not to mention a bit on the silly side, it must be like walking around on tip toes, but I guess she'll have great calves!

Shoes with no heel?

OK this is just crazy! Check out these heels, I really think that sometimes designers go just a little too far in the name of fashion. These have been designed by Antonio Berardi, you literally have to tiptoe when you wear them so I doubt they could be worn for any length of time and you certainly wouldn't want to go very far in them!

Louis Vuitton Handbag for $52,000

I've never really been a fan of Louis Vuitton, but I was drawn to a story about this bag while surfing and thought that I would give it a look, I mean a bag with a price tag like that must be pretty spectacular right? Well yeah I guess it quite spectacular, but for all the wrong reasons, I mean it's just plain ugly!

It's a patchwork of 15 other Louis Vuitton bags, probably why I dislike it so much, and only 24 were made, thankfully. Beyonce is the proud owner of one and has been photographed with it, but not even that made it look good!

When I first saw some pictures of it on the net I thought that it was quite a small bag, but on digging around a bit I found another picture that shows how big it it...that must be why it's so expensive ;)


I have to say that anyone that spends $52000 on this really does have more money than sense!!

Britney Spears to flee to London

I've just read that Britney is so desperate to get away from her custody battle with ex husband Kevin Federline, that she is considering moving to the UK, apparently she has set her heart on moving here and is even developing an english accent!!

Its laughable!

Beckhams on the move again?

Victoria Beckham is reportedly looking for a new, larger home for her family in Hollywood. The Beckhams have only been living in their six-bedroom, £10million Beverley Hills mansion for a couple of weeks, but Posh is said to want to move to an area known as Billionaire’s Beach. An insider revealed, "Victoria wants to do everything possible to establish herself as a top Hollywood celebrity. It is tremendously important to her that she competes with the mega-rich crowd. She hasn't decided whether she wants to sell the home she currently lives in yet, though." The Beckhams’ prospective neighbours would include Demi Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry and Britney Spears.

Donatella to Design for The Spice Girls Tour

The Spice Girls have asked Donatella Versace to design their outfits for their comeback tour. The Italian designer has already started working on her exclusive creations for the band - Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Halliwell - who kick off their world tour in December. A source told Britain's Daily Mirror: "Donatella was a big fan of the girls back in the day and as soon as she heard that a reunion was on the cards she submitted her ideas. There will be several different looks for each of them and the clothes will be worth over £200,000." Donatella - the sister of the late fashion guru Gianni Versace who was murdered in 1997 - is determined that each singer will have an individual look, but won't be rigorously sticking to their previous personas, Sporty (Mel C), Baby (Emma), Ginger (Geri), Scary (Mel B) and Posh (Victoria). The source added: "She wants the girls to retain their band personas but in a much less obvious way than before. Mel C won't be wearing ill-fitting sportswear instead she'll have a really sexy wardrobe. Emma will wear stunning, elegant dresses with a playful touch. "Donatella thinks they look better than many bands half their age and should show that off." The band recently announced extras dates for their world tour, after 3 million people registered for tickets on the girls' official website. The group will now perform in Vancouver, Canada, San Jose, USA, and Shanghai, China. Pete's Plea

Pete Doherty has delivered a public message to Kate Moss in the pages of the Daily Mirror, begging her to take him back. The junkie rocker, who has been in rehab trying to beat his heroin addiction, said, “Kate has broken my heart, There’s been this lockdown and I can’t get hold of her. This is the only way I can get through. I need her to know that she’s out of her f***ing mind. Kate, if you love me then realise I don’t want any other girl.” The supermodel dumped Doherty earlier this month after hearing that he had cheated on her with a South African model.

Nicole Richie pleads guilty!

Nicole Richie, the celebrity socialite and adopted daughter of Lionel Richie who is reportedly pregnant by Joel Madden pleaded guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court today (7-27-07) for driving under the influence. Nicole Richie was arrested on December 11 when she was driving her Mercedes Benz the wrong way down a California highway in Burbank, California. Richie failed the field sobriety test and admitted to have taken the painkiller Vicodin and had smoked marijuana.

In court today, Richie was supported by her boyfriend, Joel Madden and received the minimum sentence of four days (96 hours) in jail under California state law for a second time DUI offender. The "The Simple Life" star also was fined $2,048, placed on three years probation and was ordered to enroll and complete a 21-day court-supervised alcohol rehabilitation program for second time offenders.

Commissioner Steven Lubell warned Richie she could serve a full year if she violates her probation. The Superior Court Commissioner also issued a stern warning about driving under the influence to Nicole. He said, "Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs while driving is extremely dangerous. If you drive under the influence again and killed someone, you could be charged with murder, not manslaughter.

Under a plea arrangement, all references to alcohol were dropped. After the sentence hearing, Richie was taken away in a SUV without saying a word to reporters. Richie must serve her four days in jail before September 28, 2007. Richie's co-star, Paris Hilton, in "The Simple Life" was released from jail a month ago following a probation violation for her DUI conviction.
